Bridezilla post?

So, guess what? Only 35 more days until the wedding. What a whirlwind. It's been crazy, of course, highly stressful and fun all at the same time. I like a lot of aspects of wedding planning but it's all building up to one day, so I mostly just can't wait for August 1. Although there is a ton of stuff to do first. Hmm.

Some of the crazy things that have happened thus far:

1) My dressmaker had a heart attack. I had to pick up my wedding dress. It is hanging in my room, unaltered and way too big... I hope my dressmaker is okay. I have another appointment with an alterations lady next week. Cutting it close!

2) Tons of people coming to the wedding we assumed weren't coming. We are just about over capacity at our venue. But I say, the more the merrier! I think! As long as we're not illegally over capacity. Which we might be.

3) My lack of car. It's next to impossible to plan a wedding when you cannot get anywhere you need to and (almost) everyone you know lives out of town. Well, I have a vehicle now - my mom's ancient van. It's definitely doing the trick in terms of transportation, but it's like driving a house. Also, the tires squeal every time I speed up, slow down, take any sort of turn at all, idle, park, drive normally or turn the ignition.

4) The LCBO's almost-strike. Luke and I definitely stocked up on liquor the day before the potential strike and now there are cases and cases of girly cocktail drinks in the basement. Oh, and the LCBO decided not to strike after all.

That's all I can think of for now but there have been countless stressful, funny and crazy moments. It's been a wild ride, and I know it's only going to get wilder before the big day. But it will all be fine in the end. At least, that's what I keep promising myself :)

Hahaha! Oh wedding planning! I know it seems stressful, but you will look back on it in the future and remember it and laugh :)

And this is why I encourage all young people to elope. :)

you'll be GREAT. You've been doing great, and no bridezilla. I can't even imagine how stressful wedding planning is. I SO KNEW THAT STRIKE WAS FAKE. The day of the big stock up I said "I bet they won't even go on strike and everyone will be mad". The LCBO is hilarious.

I love comment #3. It's not that my car is a beast (anymore, it's a wonder what repairs can do!), but I think that we drivers appreciate a great vehicle if we have to drive a not-great one first. I'm happy you have something with wheels to get you from A to B.

It will be fine. I think the stress before is part of what makes it feel so awesome when you get there. Good to know about the girly cocktail drinks downstairs...
